Computed Tomography (CT) imaging, also known as CAT
Scanning, (Computed Axial Tomography) is a highly sensitive technique
used to view the internal anatomy accurately and detect extremely small
lesions. CT has the unique ability to image soft tissues, such as blood
vessels and render details of bony structures. By having a CT performed,
the radiologist is able to obtain a 360-degree view for evaluation.
Advanced Diagnostics of Vero Radiology offers the
GE HiSpeed ZXi Ultrafast Spiral CT Scanner. The ultrafast spiral
scanner is able to scan three times faster without compromise to resolution.
Whole body scan times are 30-90 seconds.
Our scanner has the capabilities to perform various types of studies such as:
For patients requiring CT guided biopsies, Vero Radiology's
scanner is equipped with an in-room monitor. This monitor enables the
Radiologist to perform faster and safer biopsies. Our patients then
are able to recover in our fully functional four-bed recovery room with
our full-time registered ACLS nursing staff.
Added Features:
Our newest addition is PACS, (Picture Archiving and Communications
System) a digital filmless system. At Advanced MRI, images stored electronically,
greatly benefiting future follow-up studies for use in comparison studies.
VRA possesses the most advanced technology which improves our patient
throughput, and results in shorter waiting time and better service for
our patients and referring physicians.
Vero Radiology's CT is the first in the state of Florida to be
accredited by the American College of Radiology.
