Ultrasonography
Ultrasonography (US) is a procedure that uses sound waves
rather than x-rays to produce a medical image or picture of various organs
and tissues in the body. A transmission gel will be applied to the body part
that will be examined and a transducer (a small hand held device) is moved slowly
over the body part being imaged producing a light pressure on your skin.
The ultrasound images will appear on a monitor similar
to a computer screen and are recorded on film, or stored digitally in
our filmless computer system PACS, for a detailed study.
Vero Radiology Associates has the latest equipment for Ultrasound studies.
We have the capability of performing Doppler evaluations of the heart,
arterial and venous studies.
Ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless procedure that utilizes sound
waves to image various body parts. The different exams include abdominal,
pelvic, OB, thyroid, and testicular studies. Ultrasound can detect disease
before patients have symptoms.
Vero Radiology Associates Ultrasound department
is accredited by the American College of Radiology.
